Renaissance Finishes + Contemporary Design
3 Day Workshop | Instructor: Alison Woolley
We are thrilled to welcome Alison Woolley of Florence, Italy to teach this new workshop using early Renaissance techniques of gesso grounds, rich pigment colours, gilded surfaces, polish and patina, to create finishes that are both timeless and contemporary.
Learn to use traditional Florentine materials such as gilders gesso, earth pigments and oxides, natural paint mediums, waxes and polishes to create the beautiful rich patterns and finishes seen in early Renaissance art. The beauty of these materials has never been surpassed for creating outstanding furniture finishes, frames, cabinetry, and decorative panels that will attract attention in the most refined contemporary interiors.
