IDAL Instructor Biography
His passport says, Arthur Oglesby, but everyone calls him Butch.
It seems that he’s always had a camera in his hands. When Butch was a child in south Alabama his mother let him use the family’s Brownie Hawkeye to make photos of his friends, family, nature and sometimes his toys.
Butch spent his childhood in Mobile, Alabama and later youth in Atlanta, Georgia. He and Joy met in high school band and were married shortly after graduation. In the years since Butch and Joy have lived in several states and spent nearly a decade living and working in western Europe. They have two children and four grandchildren.
Butch’s careers have included about electronics and data communications, Christian ministry and missionary service. Today he attempts to follow his life-long dream of being a professional photographer and using the gifts he has to serve others along the way.
